How Privileged Are You?

Think for a minute how privileged you are living in 2020. Today you can send someone a text in seconds via phone. Only 10 years ago was when not everyone could even afford a phone. Instead of complaining to your parents about how your iPhone 10 is old and how you want an iPhone 11, think first:
Is my current phone working? Do I REALLY need an upgrade or do I want that iPhone 11 Pro Plus so that I look “cool” in front of people?

"Of course we all want an upgrade but that upgrade comes with a price which we all may not be able to pay as often as others.”
Those of you who may not have started to pay for your phone and other bills yet may have no clue how much they really can come to. When I started to, I was surprised to see the total number - from the service fee to the actual phone to the insurance and everything in between - it was sure not a number I was expecting. It all adds up at the end!
Things you didn't pay for don't come for free; your parents, friends, family, someone paid for it!

That’s when we work our asses off and say I want to buy that phone for myself and myself ONLY. Not to show society, not to show off to friends, not to brag. Only because I deserve it. You work your butt off at work, work longer hours, and see that number in your bank account grow and finally you reach a point where you look and you’re like wow, I did THAT - you feel a sense of accomplishment. That’s my hard earned money and I’ve done THAT. Be proud of yourself. Being proud of yourself does not mean you’re bragging. They are two very different things (that’s a topic for another post 😉). So the next time you want something, especially if it’s a big investment, ask yourself if you want it for yourself or if you just want to show it off to your coworkers and the public. Become independent, be that person who works and rewards themselves for their hard work. 🧡
