You’re buying yourself a flight ticket because you’ve always wanted to go to Italy. No need to worry about paying someone back or having someone else pay for your trip. How incredible of a feeling would that be? It’s just a different feeling in total when you don’t need to rely on others to pay for your food 🥘 . To pay for your flight tickets ✈️ . To pay for your clothes and expenses. 💵 You feel a different kind of confidence and independency.

Starting from scratch may feel like “how am I going to build up?” But if you save, control your expenses, make sure you’re spending on the things you actually need, then you’ll eventually see those numbers rise. Also I think we can all agree that the direct deposit notification makes us very happy LOL.

There’s a common saying which I love: “You gotta start somewhere.” You have to start supporting yourself eventually, so might as well start early.

Apply for that job you saw on LinkedIn the other day.

Grab that part time job and gradually move up to different ones.

You know that hobby of yours? Create it a side hustle.

Have lots of skills but don’t know where to apply or don’t have a degree? Freelance! There are HUNDREDS of online jobs from voice narrating, creating presentations and files, to tutoring. And best of all, you can do this work from literally anywhere. @UpWork and @Steady are two fantastic apps/websites. I myself have found some really intriguing opportunities!

Scenario: You tell me, what’s going to make you feel more proud of yourself in the long run? Buying yourself that car that you’ve dreamt about since you were 10 years old after saving up for years, or buying yourself that pair of shoes that won’t hold a lot of value to your life long-term? Look up from your screen for 10 seconds and think of your answer.
