Be proud of yourself. Give yourself credit. Celebrate those small wins.

Let’s be honest. Something that quite a few of us need to work on is celebrating ourselves and accomplishments more than what we actually do. I cannot emphasize how important it is to be proud of yourself, not only of big wins but even the small ones.

No one gave you that job in your hand for free. You worked hard, prepared for that interview, spending hours reviewing and editing your resume while polishing your skills by taking extra courses.

The next time you get promoted, get a job, or are given an award/reward, look at the picture as a whole and dive deep. Look at the individual parts that got you to where you are now. Those hours of hard work and things you did that went unseen but benefited the organization or company… Never forget that.

You very well could’ve dropped everything and not put in that effort. But you did. And you need to give yourself credit for that.

I honestly feel like it’s the small wins that teach us and give us that wake up call more than the major accomplishments. At the end of the day, it’s the milestones and experiences that create the concept of a journey, right?

We all have done things that we’re not proud of. Instead of looking down at those mistakes, look at what you took from them. You did better and even excelled at the things that came your way, some expected and some completely uncalled for.

You might have fallen. Once. Twice. Maybe even 5 times, but you DID get through it. If you made mistakes but learnt from them and tried your best to improve every time, you won.

You’re allowed to be proud and speak highly of yourself and your journey. There may be people who influenced you or were role models in your life, and they do deserve some credit, but don’t forget to give yourself some as well - you took all the end decisions!

Give yourself some credit too. <33
